Maximise efficiency, customer service and profit by optimising use of resources

Venuesim has developed state of the art algorithms that can analyse and correlate large amounts of data from apparently disparate sources from large venues and processes.
Our technology can learn and identify underlying patterns in such data (both known and unknown by an expert user). From this, models can be created which allow forecasting of the behaviour of any aspect of the process.
Our forecasting technology include measures of uncertainty and the capacity to analyse the forecasted model against real-time data to detect anomalies and provide alerts.
This state-of-the-art forecasting allows us to optimise resources not only to a plan, but to a range of possibilities around a plan which in real life always changes. We provide not only reliability in the forecasting, but also reliability in the optimised plan against real-time changes

Data and Targeted Information

VenueSim products are based on a SaaS (Software as a Service) principle.

Our unique proposition is that we only use Data that is currently held on the client site and no additional hardware is required.
As a result the developed model is unique to each client or system and is able to accurately represent and forecast processes or behaviours and optmise the use of resources based on currently available data.
We provide the right Information extracted from the data to the right stakeholder in the right format.

  • Management Compact precise information for understanding the process better, for informed decision making and better planning for increased profit
  • IT / data analysts Organised detailed information for easier and better analysis of more data and for monitoring and reporting to management
  • Operations / supervisors Precise concise information for 0ptimal use of resources with lower costs
  • Contractors / support services Planning services (e.g. maintenance) with minimised disruptions to the processes

Off-the-shelf products

In airports, the VenueSim Q-Alert product is a unique software analysis and reporting tool that allows airport operators to forecast (weeks and months in advance) the flows of passengers through their airports and identify which factors will most affect these flows. The area that this has most impact is the security zone where flow is most noticeably affected. By predicting when passengers will arrive at security an airport is able to optimise the security resources required to meet this demand and get passengers into the departure lounge as efficiently as possible. This in turn improves customer service and helps to maintain security SLAs. Check a simple demo for airports.

Retail is the major profit generator at most airports around the world as airlines drive down the landing fees to cater for cheaper air travel. However the increased queues at the security gate has slowed the flow of passengers and significantly reduced the dwell time (time spent) in the departure lounge.

As retail spend is directly proportional to dwell time the result is a marked reduction in the level of retail revenues and therefore profit generated. It has been estimated that airports lose 34p profit for every 10 minutes that a passenger spends queuing in the security area. An airport therefore has the opportunity to generate between £80k and £170k extra profit per annum for every 1 minute reduction in the time spent queuing in security depending on the size of the airport.

VenueSim was asked to present Q-Alert at the Airports Council International (ACI) Europe Facilitation & Customer Service Committee meeting in Nice on the 6th May 2010.

This event was attended by many senior airport personnel from across Europe who are interested in hearing about best practice within the airport sector.

As improvements in passenger flows and customer service levels are top priorities for airports - and hence ACI - Q-Alert is seen as an ideal product to help make improvements in both areas. Headquartered in Geneva ACI is a non-profit-making organisation representing over 1,530 airports in 175 countries and territories worldwide. It is the only worldwide professional association of airport operators.
